With high-speed inkjet rapidly advancing, the AccurioJet (AJ) 30000 represents a significant step forward for sheetfed production. Built on the Konica Minolta-1 platform, it combines offset-class media handling with advanced UV inkjet technology to deliver a stable, versatile digital production system.
At its core is a high-definition inkjet platform producing 1,200 x 1,200 dpi output with newly developed printheads and UV-curable inks. The AJ 30000 runs up to 3,000 sheets per hour and supports automatic duplex printing without drying delays, helping accelerate turnaround times and boost overall throughput.
“A lot of what we were looking for was consistency and integration,” says Phil Vedda, Director of Sales at Vedda Printing. “We operate in a fast-moving environment, and the AJ30000 delivers output that meets our standards consistently enough that we can move work to inkjet without needing additional customer approvals.”
A key innovation behind the press is Konica Minolta’s patented Dot Freeze Technology™, which precisely controls ink droplets the moment they contact the substrate. By “freezing” each dot instantly with LED UV curing, the system prevents ink spread and maintains sharp detail, strong color stability and excellent image quality across a wide range of materials. The result is digital print quality that rivals offset while retaining the advantages of inkjet production.
Media flexibility is another defining capability. The AJ 30000 supports substrates from 0.06 mm to 0.6 mm thick and prints on coated and uncoated stocks, textured papers, metallic substrates, translucent media, plastics, canvas and packaging board. This versatility allows printers to expand into applications like direct mail, packaging, marketing collateral, signage and specialty print.
The press’s B2+ sheet size (up to 585 × 750 mm) further boosts productivity through flexible imposition and higher sheet utilization. Paired with large-capacity feeders and stackers, the platform is built for sustained high-volume production.
For printers transitioning from offset environments, the AJ 30000 seamlessly integrates into existing workflows. Its paper transport system mirrors offset-style media handling to ensure stable sheet movement and accurate registration. Inline sensors continuously monitor image quality and automatically compensate for potential nozzle errors to maintain consistent output across long runs.
This was an appealing factor for Roberts Printing. “The AJ30000 fits right into our existing production strategy,” says Joe Tirschfield, VP/GM. “It’s become the primary production engine for the majority of our mid-range work.”
